Tonight there won’t be that many players to choose from with only five games on tap. However, there is plenty of value to be found in the aftermath of Chris Paul’s injury. Keep in mind all $ values are based on Yahoo Fantasy Sports.
Point Guard: $20 Ricky Rubio- He has been playing great as of late, and that should continue as he draws a matchup with the Clippers. His ceiling is limited by his inability to score 20+ points. His ability to rack up fantasy points in other categories makes him an enticing play nonetheless.
Shooting Guard: $14 Austin Rivers- Without Chris Paul, Rivers will be the Clippers’ ball handler. The last time Paul missed time, Rivers took advantage of the opportunity.
Guard: $33 Eric Bledsoe- Bledsoe has been playing very well lately and should carry over some of that success into his game against the Cavaliers. The game should be high-scoring, which means more opportunities to score for Bledsoe.
Small Forward: $17 JJ Redick- This is another player who benefits with Paul out. Reduce will contribute scoring, but not too many rebounds or assists.
Power Forward: $10 Kyle O’Quinn- This is only a smart play if Joakim Noah does not suit up. Without Noah in the lineup, O’Quinn will be forced to play extended minutes which means more rebounds and points for him.
Forward: $25 Otto Porter- He draws an excellent matchup with the Knicks, and should see a good amount of time on the court since the game should be close. Porter can contribute in ways other than scoring, which makes him an enticing play.
Center: $43 Karl Anthony Towns- If DeAndre Jordan does not play, Towns becomes an elite option capable of scoring 50+ fantasy points.
Utility: $37 Carmelo Anthony- As I said before, the Knicks versus Wizards game should be close. Melo can go off on any given night, and it is very possible that he does so tonight.
