Today features a very small three game slate. That means that most rosters will look very similar, and it will be tough to be a contrarian. For a lineup that will be updated throughout the day, DM me on twitter @jackstatsblog.
Point Guard: $10,900 Isaiah Thomas
Thomas has played an excellent month and a half of basketball, and his price now reflects that. However, he draws a strong matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers weak perimeter defense, and should be a nice pivot off of Russell Westbrook. Another good option is Fred VanVleet. Kyle Lowry is currently listed as a game time decision, and if he doesn’t suit up VanVleet should see more use.
Shooting Guard: $4,800 Norman Powell
As long as DeMar DeRozan doesn’t play, Powell should hoist up around 15 shot attempts. if he can connect on at least half of those, he will hit 5x value. Outside of Powell there aren’t that many good shooting options, so you will either need to take on a large salary, or go for someone in the $3,500-$5,000 range.
Small Forward: $4,900 Evan Turner
Jae Crowder will be one of the most owned players of the day. While I think Crowder is a strong play today, going contrarian here with Evan Turner could pay off. After Crowder and Turner, Bogdanovic is the next best option.
Power Forward: $5,000 Trevor Booker
Power forward contains yet another dearth of options. Booker is the one that stands out though since he is the only one capable of achieving 5x value.
Center: $7,600 DeAndre Jordan
Although his production has gone down since Blake Griffin reentered the lineup, Jordan is the pick that I am the most confident with. Jordan should feast on an undersized Celtics frontcourt with no elite rebounders. If all goes right, Jordan can have a game similar to the one Andre Drummond had last week against the Celtics: 28 points and 22 rebounds. Steven Adams is another very good option for tonight if you want someone cheaper.
