Pitcher: $11,800 Chris Sale- I don’t usually tend to splurge on the pitcher position this much, but Sale’s excellent matchup warrants it. There is arguably not a single pitcher in the American League that has as high a ceiling as Sale, and he will have the chance to showcase that tonight. In his last meeting with the Rays, Sale was able to dominate. Another dominant outing should be in the works for Sale.
Catcher: $2,600 Jason Castro- While he isn’t always a solid play, he is when the matchup presents itself. Castro will face Dylan Bundy in what will be an excellent matchup for the entire Twins lineup. Just as they were last night, the Twins are an excellent stack candidate for today. Given the paucity of options at the catcher position, Castro stands out as one with both stability and upside.
First Base: $3,200 Will Myers- Josh Tomlin has struggled mightily this year, and Myers will look to take advantage of that. Myers got off to a torrid hot start to the year, but he has since cooled down a bit. Nevertheless, he should be a able to scrape together a strong day at the plate.
Second Base: $3,500 Robinson Cano- Given their excellent matchup with Paul Blackburn, the Seattle Mariners are a very strong stack candidate. Cano fares much better against righites, meaning he will have a high chance to turn in a big game. He has a relatively high floor with a very high ceiling as well.
Third Base: $2,500 Kyle Seager- Seager didn’t have the best start to the season, but he has since picked up his level of play. He fares much better against righties, making it a good thing that he is facing Paul Blackburn. Seager carries some risk, but he does have plenty of home run potential.
Shortstop: $3,500 Jean Segura- Another player on the Seattle Mariners, Segura should benefit from their matchup with Paul Blackburn. Segura has had an excellent season so far, and his success should continue tonight. He has been on a bit of a tear recently, which only adds to his fantasy value.
Outfield: $2,700 Brian Goodwin- Don’t get me wrong, Goodwin is a very risky play for tonights game, but he does have a solid righty/lefty matchup. He is very inexperienced, but he has flashed big game potential as he was able to net a multi home run game a couple of nights ago. While a game of that standard should be expected, there is a chance that Goodwin comes close to that.
Outfield: $2,700 Max Kepler- Kepler is arguably the best German player in the MLB, and has shown that he has the talent to succeed. He is a fairly risky play, but he does have a good deal of upside
Outfield: $2,300 Jaycob Brugman- I have never included a player this cheap in one of my daily fantasy articles. Brugman is a very risky play, but his cheap price allows you to afford Chris Sale. Albeit the fact that he is vastly inexperienced, Krugman should still be able to produce in a strong righty/lefty matchup. This will also be a nice contrarian play, something that is valued highly in larger tournaments.
