Pitcher: $11,500 Max Scherzer- Scherzer has had a very dominant season, and his success should continue against the San Diego Padres. The Padres have struggled to put runs together at times this year, and Scherzer will look to take advantage of that. He has a very high floor, as well as a high ceiling. His steep price doesn’t give you that much flexibility with the rest of your lineup. However, there are plenty of strong value plays on tonights slate, making stomaching Scherzer’s price easier.

Catcher: $2,600 Matt Wieters- This price seems way too low for the type of production he can offer. Wieters will have the opportunity to have a big game as he draws a matchup with Luis Perdomo. At a position with a paucity of quality options, Wieters stands out as an excellent pick.

First Base: $3,000 Yonder Alonso- Alonso is primed for a big night seeing as how he draws an excellent matchup with Austin Pruitt. Pruitt is very inexperienced, and hopefully Alonso will be able to capitalize. At this price he is a bargain for the production that he brings.

Second Base: $2,600 Jason Kipnis- Kipnis hasn’t had a great start to the year, but he will look to turn things around tonight. He draws an excellent matchup with Ian Kennedy in a matchup that he should be able to take advantage on.

Third Base: $3,200 Derek Dietrich- This is a bit risky of a play, but the potential is there for Dietrich to have a big game. He is a completely different ballplayer when he faces a right handed pitcher, and he will face one in Chris Flexen. It also doesn’t hurt that Dietrich comes with a relatively cheap $3,200 price tag.

Shortstop: $3,600 Zach Cozart- He sports one of the best batting averages in the MLB, which him a low-risk option. Nevertheless, Cozart can have big games with his extra base hit and home run potential.

Outfield: $3,000 Shin Soo Choo- Choo should make the most of his matchup with James Shields. He hasn’t experienced the greatest season, but it looks like he is making a turn in the right direction.

Outfield: $3,000 Corey Dickerson- Dickerson is a stalwart in these articles anytime he is facing a right handed pitcher. This is looking like a breakout year for him, and his excellent play should continue against Erasmo Ramirez. He is a somewhat safe play, but he also has a good deal of potential. It is also a good thing that he is about $1,000 underpriced.

Outfield: $2,400 Ben Gamel- Gamel has a propensity to strikeout, but that oddly does not affect his batting average. His matchup with Austin Pruitt is one that he will look to take advantage of.
