Pitcher: $8,700 Jimmy Nelson- Anytime a pitcher is facing the San Francisco Giants they have an elevated chance at a strong performance. Jimmy Nelson has had an above average season and his success should continue tonight. His tendency to strike batters out gives him a high ceiling, but his struggles this year gives him a fairly low floor.

Catcher: $2,800 Alex Avila- Anytime that Avila is facing a right handed pitcher he is a solid play. He has had a mini resurgence this year and his success should continue against Homer Bailey. Given the dearth of options at the catcher position, having a solid option such as Avila is very important.

First Base: $3,100 Yonder Alonso- Alonso is primed for a big night seeing as how he draws an excellent matchup with Lucas Sims. Sims is very inexperienced, and hopefully Alonso will be able to capitalize. At this price he is a bargain for the production that he brings.

Second Base: $3,700 Rougned Odor- There is a perpetual risk that comes with starting Odor, but when he’s facing a righty, playing Odor tends to pay off in a big way. He will face the right handed Ricky Noclaso who has had a tumultuous start to the season.

Third Base: $3,200 Kyle Seager- Seager hasn’t had the best season, but that doesn’t mean he can’t put together a solid game. He fares much better against righties, making it a good thing that he will face Lucas Sims. Seeger doesn’t have that high of a floor, but he does have a fairly lofty ceiling.

Shortstop: $3,300 Jean Segura- Segura has enjoyed plenty of success so far this season, and he should find more of that success against Sims. His ability to get on base makes him a very safe play. You will be hard-pressed to find an option this strong at the shortstop position for an inexpensive price.

Outfield: $3,500 Kyle Schwarber- As I said in an aforementioned paragraph, the Cubs draw an excellent matchup with the inexperienced Homer Bailey. Schwarber destroys righties, meaning a big game could be in the works for him. He is always a risky play due to his inability to accrue base hits, but his immense power at this price is difficult to pass up on.

Outfield: $3,200 Shin-Soo Choo- Choo should make the most of his matchup with Ricky Noclaso. He hasn’t experienced the greatest season, but it looks like he is making a turn in the right direction.

Outfield: $3,500 Max Kepler- Arguably the best German player in the MLB, Kepler has proved that he has the talent to be successful in the MLB. He draws an excellent matchup  with Lucas Giolito, meaning he could be in for a big game. He has a relatively high floor, but he has a very high ceiling because of his home run potential.
