Pitcher: $9,100 Jose Berrios- Berrios has pitched well in what has been a breakout campaign. He should find more success tonight against a Chicago White Sox team that has struggled mightily this year. Berrios has a tendency to strike batters out, which means he has plenty of big game potential. He is a relatively safe pick with a lofty ceiling as well.

Catcher: $3,000 Alex Avila- Anytime that Avila is facing a right handed pitcher he is a solid play. He has had a mini resurgence this year and his success should continue against Sal Romano. Given the dearth of options at the catcher position, having a solid option such as Avila is very important.

First Base: $2,900 Mitch Moreland- He should be in for a solid game as he is set to face Trevor Bauer. Moreland tends to perform well in matchup with below-average righties such as Bauer. Because of Moreland’s propensity to hit doubles, there is always a solid floor as well as a relatively high ceiling.

Second Base: $3,500 Rougned Odor- There is a perpetual risk that comes with starting Odor, but when he’s facing a righty, playing Odor tends to pay off in a big way. He will face the right handed J.C. Ramirez who has had a rough season.

Third Base: $3,200 Jedd Gyorko- Albeit that he is a righty himself, Gyorko performs much better against right handed pitchers. He has enjoyed a good deal of success this year, and that should continue against Luis Perdomo. Gyorko carries some risk, but his massive upside makes up for nearly all of that risk.

Shortstop: $3,500 Paul DeJong- DeJong has burst onto the scene this year to the tune of 20 home runs and a .295 batting average. His success should continue against the inexperienced Luis Perdomo.

Outfield: $3,600 Kyle Schwarber- As I said in an aforementioned paragraph, the Cubs draw an excellent matchup with the inexperienced Sal Romano. Schwarber destroys righties, meaning a big game could be in the works for him. He is always a risky play due to his inability to accrue base hits, but his immense power at this price is difficult to pass up on.

Outfield: $3,600 Nomar Mazara- Mazara, who absolutely obliterates righties, draws a matchup with the right handed J.C. Ramirez. Ramirez shouldn’t be able to deter Mazara from having a big game. It also doesn’t hurt that his price is fairly low for the type of production he can offer.

Outfield: $2,600 Scott Schebler- Schebler is always a risky play, but he could be a strong contrarian play. Not many people will feature him in their lineup due to the risk that he possesses. Most of his value rests in his ability to hit home runs so if he is able to hit one out today, he will end up being an excellent value pick.
