Pitcher: $9,000 Tanner Roark- Roark has seen a tumultuous start to the season and will look to straighten things out against the Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia’s offense has been stifled by many a pitcher this year, and Roark could add his name to that list. Roark has put together a couple of excellent performances on the bump this year, so if that version of Roark is present, he should be able to provide you with plenty of value at a low price.

Catcher: $2,400 Alex Avila- Anytime that Avila is facing a right handed pitcher he is a solid play. He has had a mini resurgence this year and his success should continue against Michael Wacha. Given the dearth of options at the catcher position, having a solid option such as Avila is very important.

First Base: $2,800 Mitch Moreland- He should be in for a solid game as he is set to face Marco Estrada. Moreland tends to perform well in matchup with below-average righties such as Estrada. Because of Moreland’s propensity to hit doubles, there is always a solid floor as well as a relatively high ceiling.

Second Base: $3,400 Scooter Gennett- Gennett erupted for a monster four home run game earlier this year, showing his abundance of upside. While you shouldn’t expect the same performance today, he should still be able to turn in a strong game. He obliterates righties and will face one in Brandon Woodruff.

Third Base: $3,400 Travis Shaw- There is a perpetual risk that comes with starting Shaw, but his home run potential makes up for most of that risk. I don’t usually like starting players similar to Shaw, but there aren’t that many strong options at third base. He doesn’t have that much of a floor for today’s game, but he does have plenty of upside.

Shortstop: $4,000 Trea Turner- Turner has shown no signs of regressing after coming off of an extended stint on the DL. He has fared well against right handed pitchers, making it a good thing that he will face one in Mark Leiter Jr. Leiter Jr has been hit hard at times this year, making both Turner and his teammates solid picks.

Outfield: $3,300 Kyle Schwarber- The Cubs draw an excellent matchup with the struggling Michael Wacha. Schwarber obliterates righties, meaning a big game could be in the works for him. He is always a risky play due to his inability to accrue base hits, but his immense power at this price is difficult to pass up on.

Outfield: $3,700 Ender Inciarte- Inciarte is mainly here to offset some of the risk that comes with starting players such as Schwarber, Shaw, and Schebler. Nevertheless, Inciarte has enjoyed an excellent start to what has been a breakout campaign. He should continue to roll against the right handed Robert Gsellman.

Outfield: $2,800 Scott Schebler- Schebler is always a risky play, but he could be a strong contrarian play. Not many people will feature him in their lineup due to the risk that he possesses. Most of his value rests in his ability to hit home runs so if he is able to hit one out today, he will end up being an excellent value pick.
