Usually Monday slates aren’t that great, but man do I like this slate. Its been a while since I have had this much confidence in a single slate and all the players on the board. There are so many up-tempo games that feature many different avenues you can take your lineup down. Here are my favorite options at each position:

Point Guard: $7,600 Lonzo Ball- Ball’s entrance into the Association has been heavily scrutinized. A lot of that has to do with his loud and brash father LaVar. Lonzo has struggled to find his shot early this year and it has been heavily reported on. Nevertheless, he has shown the kind of immense potential that could lead to him being a Russell Westbrook-type fantasy stud. On Saturday night he dropped 19 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists, 4 blocks, and 3 steals. In doing so he dethroned LeBron James as the youngest player to ever record a triple-double. His price has spiked due to his dominant performance, but it is still fairly reasonable. Lonzo’s matchup could not be any better as he gets to face the fast paced Phoenix Suns and their porous defense. Ricky Rubio is another player that I will have plenty of exposure to.

Shooting Guard: $6,100 Will Barton- Keep in mind that this play entirely hinges on the availability of Gary Harris. My thinking is that the Nuggets with sit Harris with an extended rest period coming up (the Nuggets don’t play again until Friday). Barton has had a very strong start to the year as Denver’s sixth man, but he excelled when he was inserted into the starting lineup two nights ago. The fact that this is a revenge game only makes him a more enticing play. The Portland Trail Blazers have been stifling against opposing front courts, but they have been vulnerable to guards. That bodes well for Barton in what will be an up-tempo game that I want a good amount of exposure to. Other strong shooting guard options are Lou Williams and Austin Rivers.

Small Forward: $7,100 TJ Warren- I don’t think there is a more volatile player in the NBA than TJ Warren. His fantasy production has been all over the map this year which has made starting him a hassle. However, if you are able to anticipate one of his big games, he has the potential to win you a tournament. He is in an excellent spot to succeed against Brandon Ingram and the Los Angeles Lakers. If you would like a bit safer of an option I would go with Taurean Prince.

Power Forward: $9,600 Kristaps Porzingis- The Unicorn has turned plenty of heads this year and seems like a shoe-in for the Most Improved Player award. There has been one downside to his excellent play: his price has skyrocketed. It is harder to start him now, but he is still a very strong play when faced with a plus matchup. This is one of those times as he will face an broken down Cleveland Cavaliers defense. He has an enormous amount of upside, but there is an inherent risk in starting a player this young and with his tendency to pick up fouls. Because of the aforementioned reason, I believe he is more of a tournament play than a cash game play. Draymond Green thrives in fast paced games and I will have plenty of exposure to him in both cash games and tournaments.

Center: $7,500 Kevin Love- I have steered clear of Love for the most part ever since he joined the Cavs, but that is going to change. He has had two monster games in his last three outings and a third should be on its way. Enes Kanter is a subpar defender meaning Love should be able to impose his will down low. He is an excellent option in both cash games and tournaments.
