At first glance I didn’t really like this main slate, but as I looked deeper, I found some interesting spots full of fantasy appeal. I always tend to like these smaller slates since there aren’t as many options to consider. Keep in mind that this article is just a first reaction to the slate and my outlook on players may change throughout the day.
There is a new subscription available for purchase below. This new subscription will give you two players I love at each position and one popular player I will be fading at each position. Each player named will have a paragraph of analysis written about them stating why I believe you should/shouldn’t roster them.
$8,900 Zack Greinke: The San Francisco Giants feature a much improved lineup since last year, but those new additions all perform better against lefties. Because of that, I will continue to stream good righties against them. I’m not quite sure why Greinke costs less than Jameson Taillon on FanDuel, but I’m not complaining. You should no longer shy away from pitchers pitching in Chase Field as is no longer the hitters paradise it was a year ago given the implementation of a humidor.
$4,100 Paul Goldschmidt: My preferred stack for tonight are the Arizona Diamondbacks lefty-mashers. As one of those lefty mashers, Goldschmidt will likely be the first baseman I have the most exposure to. It has been common knowledge in the daily fantasy community that if Goldschmidt is facing a lefty at home, you plug him into your lineup immediately.
$3,800 Zach Cozart: Cozart performs better against lefties and thankfully he draws a matchup with one. While a matchup with Eduardo Rodriguez may not seem like the perfect spot to target, Cozart is my preferred shortstop given the lack of depth at the position. I am toying with an Angels team stack, but I have enough respect for Rodriguez’ talent to just stick with a couple of one-offs.
$3,200 AJ Pollock: As I stated in an aforementioned paragraph, I will be featuring the Diamondbacks’ lefty-mashers in my lineups. As one of those lefty-mashers, Pollock will likely be the outfielder I have the most exposure to. His price is more than affordable and I would still play him even if his price were $600 more expensive. As of right now, he is my favorite position player on the board for tonight. Not only does he make for an excellent cash game play, but he is also a strong tournament play given his lofty ceiling.
