In my opinion this is the best slate of the entire season. Not only does it have star pitchers, but those star pitchers are facing soft-hitting lineups. There are plenty of quality bats on the board in great matchups as well. Keep in mind that this article is a preview of the players on a given slate. Pitchers: Of all the pitchers on the slate, my favorite has to be Justin Verlander. Verlander has gotten off to an excellent start to the year and he should find more success against a Chicago White Sox team that performs better against lefties. Trevor BauerJakob Junis, and Sonny Gray are the other pitchers I will be heavily exposed to given their strong matchups and recent form. None of the pitchers in the lower tiers are that enticing, so I will likely be avoiding those spots as a whole.

Team Stacks: Given how well the Los Angeles Angels have performed against lefties, they deserve to be the top overall team stack on the slate due to their matchup with lefty Derek Holland. The 1-3 stack is very expensive, but they have the potential to pay it off. Even though the Boston Red Sox get a ballpark downgrade, their matchup with Kendall Graveman is one they should be able to take advantage of. A stack that may fly under the radar is the Texas Rangers. Shin-Soo Choo, Nomar Mazara, and Joey Gallo are my preferred targets from the Rangers.

Position Players: I haven’t rostered Nelson Cruz yet this year, but that will end today. Cruz is one of the best in the business against lefties and draws a matchup with a subpar one in Mike Minor. Josh Reddick also makes a lot of sense given his performance against righties over the past couple of years. Buster Posey and Andrew McCutchen both are lefty-mashers that I will be looking to insert into my lineup. Travis Shaw has burned me at times this year, but I will be looking to roster him tonight given the near-perfect matchup. Asdrubal Cabrera has gotten off to a torrid start to the season and his success should continue against the left handed Sean Newcomb. As of right now there aren’t many value options that are popping out at me, but that will surely change as the day progresses.
